Lake Lackawanna is a man made lake that was created in 1911. 
 

Lake Lackawanna has 6 coves and 2 islands. The bigger island is named Snake Island and the smaller island (near Smokey's) is named Turtle Island, named so because of the big rock behind it that looks like a turtle with its back and head sticking out of the water.
 

Lake Depth: Maximum depth 10 ft / average depth 4 ft.

Lake Size: Approximately 109 acres

Lake Lackawanna allows motor boats.

Lake Lackawanna Investment Company owns 210 acres. The community members pay for the use of the land which can be used in many ways;

Lake Lackawanna is a great place to live due to its picturesque surroundings, bathing beach, and facilities for boating and water sports. It is also home to a beautiful golf course and Smokey's Texas BBQ restaurant.
