The November 3rd
meeting with the township went well. They are supporting our
efforts so far and want us to look into having the contractor bonded
in the event the roadways are damaged. This would be in addition to
the 1 million dollar policy we already have for the project.
Besides that we are still waiting for our permits to come through.
We are hoping
to set up another Save the Lake meeting soon. We will keep you
posted.
The L.L.I.C.
has 280 acres of wooded land and a 1/2 acre area has been surveyed
for approval from the Highlands. A preliminary OK has been given by
the highlands and the applications are in and we are awaiting the
written permits.
Medina Consultants did a site survey and have determined that the
dump site will hold 11,000 cubic yards of material.
The Medina Consultants Engineer has completed the Lake Survey for 19
acres.
The Wetlands delineation is completed.
The DEP has reviewed our application and has requested further
information such as an extinct species survey.
The contractor has been selected for the project.
Robert La Ferrara Construction was the winning bid coming in the
lowest.
A contract is being drawn up. This will be a dry excavation using
bulldozers and excavators, not a wet dredge.
We had a closed bidding process and Robert La Ferrara Construction
had the best price for removing 12.82 acres, approximately 2 feet of
lake bottom from designated areas as outlined in bid package. See
